Eligibility Criteria
OSSTET has two categories:
- Category I: Education Teachers (TGT Arts, TGT Science, Hindi, Classical Teacher)
- Category II: Physical Education Teacher (PET)
General Eligibility
- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be able to read and write in Odia.
- Passed Odia as a subject up to HSC level or equivalent.
Educational Qualification
For TGT Arts
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Commerce with 50% marks and B.Ed.(Minimum two school subjects)
For TGT Science
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (PCM/CBZ) with 50% marks and B.Ed.(Minimum two school subjects)
For Hindi/Urdu Teachers
- Specific degrees like Shiksha Shastri, B.Ed (Hindi), or equivalent.
For PET
- +2 or its equivalent with C.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed.
Note: Relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Odisha Govt. norms.

How to Qualify OSSTET
- Qualifying Marks:
- General: 45% (68 out of 150)
- SC/ST/SEBC/PwD: 35% (53 out of 150)
Candidates must score the qualifying marks to be eligible for teacher recruitment. There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
