What is OSSTET?
OSSTET (Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha. It is mandatory for aspiring candidates who wish to become teachers for Classes IX to XII in government or private secondary schools in the state.
OSSTET 2025 Notification
The official notification for OSSTET 2025 is expected to be released by BSE Odisha on their official website: bseodisha.ac.in. The notification includes important dates, application process, exam pattern, and eligibility guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria
OSSTET has two categories:
- Category I: Education Teachers (TGT Arts, TGT Science, Hindi, Classical Teacher)
- Category II: Physical Education Teacher (PET)
General Eligibility
- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be able to read and write in Odia.
- Passed Odia as a subject up to HSC level or equivalent.
Educational Qualification
For TGT Arts
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Commerce with 50% marks and B.Ed.(Minimum two school subjects)
For TGT Science
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (PCM/CBZ) with 50% marks and B.Ed.(Minimum two school subjects)
For Hindi/Urdu Teachers
- Specific degrees like Shiksha Shastri, B.Ed (Hindi), or equivalent.
For PET
- +2 or its equivalent with C.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed.
Note: Relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Odisha Govt. norms.
